There is a large south facing balcony for those warmer! days.

The chalet has wood panelling throughout and wooden floors. It is very well insulated and warm. On the ground floor is a large living room with two double sofa beds, that leads into the kitchen diner. The bathroom with bath and wc are also on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a double room and a triple room with three single beds. Both rooms have great views over the mountains. The chalet is equipped for up to 8 people.

Outside there is plenty of space for children to play and build very large snowmen and there is a very large balcony to sit and enjoy the views. Outside table and chairs and bbq available.

Local Information

WINTER
La Joue du Loup is situated at an altitude of 1500m. It is linked to the Super Devoluy ski area and has a large common ski area of 100kms with downhill and cross country skiing. It is an excellent base for skiers and snowboarders of all standards and has one of the most beautiful cross country skiing area of the Southern Alps.
The village has retained it's mountain atmosphere. The slopes in the immediate vicinity pass through larch forests making it an attractive ski area.
There are a total of 60 slopes suitable for all levels. From the green nursery slopes in the village to the challenging black run La Pierra (2510m) 5km with an altitude difference of 990m. Experts will find that there is a lot of off piste available. Snowboarders have a dedicated surfzone which includes kickers, hits, boardercross and a small pipe.

Other winter activities - snow-mobiling, snow-shoe, ice-rink, ice diving beneath the nearby lake, ice-driving, tobogganing by the village centre, ice-wall climbing.

There are a number of restaurants and bars in the village centre, 2 supermarkets, 2 bakeries, night club, games area, 5 clothes shops and ski hire places, ski school, cinema.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES
This is as much a summer resort as a ski resort with plenty of activities in the village and nearby. Open air pool, large adventure playground, paintballing, trampolining, archery, poney club, volleyball, tennis and football are all available near the village or at Super Devoluy which is linked by cable car.

Tennis lessons and tennis tournaments are organised and you can organise lessons at the poney club. Golf de Bayard is 28 kms away. At the nearby lake sautet (20kms), canoeing, canyoning, hydrospeed, rafting and windsurfing is available.

Of course there is plenty of opportunity by way of cable cars and lifts for beautiful walks and mountain bike trails and these can be guided.

For the more adventurous, caving and paragliding are also organised nearby.
